Osteria Italiana, Schellingstraße 62.
This restaurant is said to be one of Italy’s first culinary advances north of the Alps. What we know for sure is that Josef Deutelmoser confronted Bavarian guests with Italian dining culture way back in 1890. To be on the safe side, however, the restaurant was known as the “Osteria Bavaria”. Today the owners, Egidio Sommavilla and Prisco De Stefano, take great pleasure in running this venerable restaurant with real Italian flavour and quality. Nowadays, it must be pointed out, this restaurant has over 600 imitators in Munich.
