Alter Simpl, Türkenstraße 57.
At the beginning of the last century, the red bulldog emblem of the satirical magazine, Simplicissimus, was simply combined with a champagne bottle—and the logo was ready. Ludwig Thoma, Franz Marc and Joachim Ringelnatz enjoyed nights of excess here at the Alter Simpl. Today the customers tend to be students and tourists, but a little of old bohemian Munich’s charm remains. Just take a seat and jot down a poem—with or without sparkling wine.
